Is fractional ownership right for you?

Who it suits, who it does not, and what to check in an ownership agreement.

Fractional ownership, 24 June 2025. 5 minute read.

Fractional ownership lets several investors own one property together. Each owner holds a defined share, pays a matching share of the costs and receives a matching share of the income.

Why investors choose it

It lowers the entry point. Instead of committing the full price of a luxury home, you buy the share that fits your budget. It also makes diversification possible: the same capital can be spread across more than one property.

When it may not suit you

You do not control the property alone. Decisions about use, refurbishment and sale are made under the ownership agreement. Selling a share can take longer than selling shares on a stock exchange, so treat it as a medium- to long-term investment.

What to check before you sign

Who holds the title, and how is your share recorded? How are costs and income calculated and paid? Who manages the property, and what do they charge? How can you exit, and is there a right of first refusal for other owners?

The Peermont approach

Every fractional property we offer comes with a written ownership agreement, verified title documents and a named management team. If you are unsure whether it fits your goals, talk to us before you invest.
